Zephyr Seven Homes, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation. Its board of directors is comprised of people with experience in audiology, finance and grants, property management, marketing, and a representing member of the deaf and hard of hearing community. The mission of Zephyr Seven Homes is to provide affordable deaf-friendly apartment homes to accommodate the unique safety and comfort needs of deaf and hard of hearing individuals, at an affordable rate.
The apartment complex will consist of 20 apartment homes. Each unit will have either 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms or 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. In addition, every room will include a unique emergency, alert, and communication awareness system designed to accommodate specific audible challenges.
There will be an on premise community center used for meetings and other social events. Such events can include continuing education and informational events that promote social services specifically for the deaf and hard of hearing. All tenants will have access to a dog park for service animals to exercise and interact in a controlled environment. And there will be an onsite manager to serve as a liaison between the deaf and hard of hearing population and the hearing community.
