Karen Henry

Director/Vice President/Co-Founder

 

Karen brings more than 25 years of professional public and private sector experience in environmental policy/grants, remediation, and inspections.  Karen managed a multi-million dollar national grant program, and received the highest USEPA award – “National Gold medal for Environmental Leadership” for her innovative work on environmental leadership and stewardship in low-income communities.  Karen currently works on large, high-profile environmental inspections, providing analysis and enforcement to protect communities from environmental pollution and chemical accidents.   She has advised senior federal, state, and local leaders on environmental policy in urban settings.  As a trained chemist, Karen worked in the private sector overseeing clean-up and remediation projects.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from California State University, Hayward and her Masters Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and Public Policy from Tufts University.
